2.4 Third-Party Cookies
When you connect third-party services to your Staiup account or interact with embedded third-party content, those services may set their own cookies on your device. We do not control these cookies. The following third-party services may set cookies when you use the Service:
- Stripe: Payment processing cookies used to securely handle transactions and prevent fraud. Governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Plaid: Financial connection cookies used when you link bank accounts. Governed by Plaid's Privacy Policy.
- Social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, TikTok, Google): These platforms may set cookies when you connect your social accounts or when embedded content from these platforms is displayed. Each platform's cookies are governed by their respective privacy policies.
3. Similar Technologies
In addition to cookies, we may use the following similar technologies:
- Local Storage: We use browser local storage to store preferences and temporary data that improves your experience with the Service. Local storage data persists until explicitly cleared.
- Session Storage: We use session storage for temporary data that is needed only during your current browsing session. This data is automatically cleared when you close your browser tab.
- Pixel Tags / Web Beacons: Small transparent images that may be included in emails or pages to track whether content has been viewed or an email has been opened.
4. How to Manage Cookies
4.1 Browser Settings
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically configure your browser to:
- Accept all cookies
- Notify you when a cookie is set
- Block all cookies
- Delete cookies when you close your browser
- Block third-party cookies while allowing first-party cookies
Please note that blocking or deleting cookies may impact the functionality of the Service. In particular, blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in and using core features.
Instructions for managing cookies in common browsers:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data
4.2 Opt-Out of Analytics
You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. This add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript from sharing visit activity data with Google Analytics.
4.3 Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting that sends a signal to websites you visit indicating that you do not want to be tracked. At this time, there is no universally accepted standard for how companies should respond to DNT signals. We currently do not respond to DNT signals, but we will update this policy if a standard is established.
5. Cookie Retention Periods
Cookies have different retention periods depending on their type:
- Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period of time or until you manually delete them. The specific duration for each cookie is listed in the tables above.
6. Updates to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, our practices, or for regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Material changes to how we use cookies will be communicated through a notice on the Service or via email where appropriate.
